Germany might be the third biggest planter of Pinot Noir in the world (after France and the United States) but most of what we see is at the premium level. Terrific those wines are too, but we have to say this is jolly impressive and absolutely delicious. A German Pinot Noir at this price is astounding work.
Walt is in the Pfalz, where the climate is relatively mild. You have pure Pinot flavour, bright red fruit, hints of spice, light in body, a lovely red for duck or grilled meats and soft cheeses.
