This Côtes d'Auvergne Gamay just blew us away when we tried it. Such a pleasantly unexpected surprise! The Auvergne is too often overlooked as a wine region but its rich volcanic soils and their wines are worth seeking out.
It's a fresh, bouncy, cheerful red showing Gamay in its best light, with crunchy redcurrants and raspberries, soaring aromatics and a lovely playful tongue-tingling finish.
We have a fair few 'green tractors' whizzing around Manor Farm too, so it is quite at home on our shelves.
