The Haide vineyard is on the Eisenhut, a special hill with rocky, barren soils, good for reining in the vigour of Roter Veltliner. This rare grape is mostly grown in Wagram, and bears no relation to its green namesake: rosy-skinned, its wines are fuller-flavoured and exotically spiced. Arnold Holzer's is widely renowned as one of the best.
The taste is unique through its variety of fruits, its essence-rich and full acidic finish. The typical hint of honey notes grants the Roter Veltliner its complex nature – a chameleon among wines.
