The Bundschuh? It's a 500-year-old symbol of the rural peasants' uprising against the medieval feudal system. This wine represents home, tradition and handicraft.
This is a step up from the Bauer brothers, Alex and Martin, but no less down-to-earth in its mentality. Youthful aromas of gooseberry, raspberry leaf and lime, crisp to the core. The Sauvignon Blanc is grown on löss & loam soils around Nussdorf.
We've always felt the brothers' wines are a bridge between the new and the old worlds, taking advantage of the relatively benign climes of the Pfalz and making fruit-forward yet dry and refined German wines.
