Domaine du Vieux Pressoir is located in Vaudelnay, a small village in the Loire Valley. Frédéric Etienne is the winemaker and manager of the 26-hectare estate, which is certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale). The property dates back to 1892 and was a key player in the creation of the Saumur appellation in the 1930s as well as more recently the smaller appellation of Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame in 2009, which itself has been a winegrowing village since the 13th century.
This gorgeous Chenin Blanc gives you so much flavour and elegance for the money, and comes from 25-30 year old vines grown in ancient soils. You have a delicate aroma of tropical fruits and a hint of honey, there's properly fine Chenin acidity keeping it all on the straight and narrow, nice and fresh and long to finish.
