The Corvers and Kauter families have between them five hundred years of history in the Rheingau vineyards. Now led by winemaker Dr Matthias and Brigitte Corvers, their 12 hectares of gravity-defying organic vineyards are planted around the villages of Oestrich and Winkel in the traditional manner on steep banks falling down to the Rhine river.
Their R3 is what they describe as "Riesling Remastered" and a true representation of the Rheingau, reflecting the local geology and microclimate of their best vineyards in Oestrich, Winkel and Rüdesheim. The grapes come from multiple soil types including clay, quartzite and slate.
Fermented naturally in stainless steel, this is dry Riesling that delivers a fruit explosion: lime with ripe apricot and elderflower plus zippy freshness.
