Pure by name, and purely delicious by nature. Since his grandfather passed away with Parkinson's, suspected to have been exacerbated by fertilisers & pesticides in the vineyard, Julien has been farming organically.
His natural approach extends to the making of this pure-fruited Malbec (known as Auxerrois or Côt in Cahors). Julien doesn't overwork this wine one bit. It sees no oak, being vinified and aged in cement tanks only. Bright, intense, purple colour, so recognisably Malbec with bramble fruit and grip, yet just 12.5% alcohol and a bona fide 'vin de soif', even for serving slightly chilled during warm weather. Inspirationally, radically brilliant.
